So here’s the second cool project I’ve been working on: RANSOM ME. This is the charity organization started by a friend of mine and fellow employee at Cornerstone, Heather Nyhart, that sets out to “contribute to the movement to end sex trafficking”. Aside from being informative, right now they are in the process of producing a set (of 6) designer coffee/tee mugs. Each mug will have a different look and feel (another project I have some creative liberty with) and will be made available for purchase as they are produced…
So here’s the first. Enjoy ~

I rocked the retro recently at a friend’s “decade themed” birthday party. That adidas track jacket was a hit. I’ve had it for years…and this party was the second time I’ve ever really worn it. Guess I’ve never had the guts to wear it in public. Haha. Anyways, I can’t wait for the next costume party…I’ll be going as Tommy Corn…

So, I just bought some new shoes off Piperlime.com…and all I have to say is GOOD DEALS. They’re getting rid of some stock…their clearance section is really nice. Originally, these two pairs together would have been about $250. They were both on sale for a combined $175. I had a nice gift card from Christmas (from the GAP–yes, Piperlime takes Old Navy, GAP, and Banana Republic gift cards) and only wound up paying $25 total! You do the math;) Thanks Mom & Dad…

Okay…so I heard a lot of people leaving the movie theater tonite, all of them asking the same question: “…great movie, but what does Seven Pounds mean??” Search no further. I have the answer for you. The title of this new, tear-jerking, Will Smith flick takes its meaning from an old saying that refers to individual favors, acts of kindness, etc to “…a pound of flesh…”. In this movie, Will Smith’s character does 7 life-changing favors for 7 people. Count ‘em up: 1) his brother, 2) Holly (the social worker), 3) Connie (mom w/2 kids), 4) Nicholas (little boy with cancer), 5) George (the hockey coach), 6) Ezra (the pianist), and 7) Emily (the female lead). Seven people. Seven favors. “Seven Pounds” of flesh…bring Kleenex…

So, my friend Don didn’t waste any time getting his tattoo after I finished the design. As you can see, its already done–and this photo is a couple days old! Looks great…he got it done at a pretty well-known place in the only city in the world worth mentioning–NYC–at a parlor called Inkline. Apparently, they’ve done tattoos for lots of no-namers like Heidi Klum, Seal, Christian Slater, Val Kilmer, etc…Don said the wait list to get in was pretty long–like months–but supposedly, when he showed them the design, they jumped at the chance because they liked it so much. C’mon now…I’m definitely no Ami James, but I can’t help being a little flattered. That’s my city giving me props~
